1 position(s). How do we create an operation that gives people better opportunities for employment, education, and self-sufficiency? This is a question we work with every day within the Employment Services Unit. We are now seeking a unit manager who wants to lead development forward and create clarity, structure, and direction in an operation with great significance for many people's futures. This is a role for someone driven by development and change rather than administration. You enjoy creating order in complex situations, building strong teams, and translating goals into concrete operations that make a real difference. YOUR ROLE As unit manager, you are responsible for operations, finances, personnel, and work environment within the Employment Services Unit. You lead an operation with many different assignments and collaboration interfaces, where the pace of development is high and needs change over time. An important part of the assignment is translating the operation's overall direction into tactical structures, priorities, and working methods that strengthen the operation both in the short and long term. This means developing clear frameworks for how work is planned, followed up, and developed, so that goals become achievable in practice. On an operational level, you work closely with your employees and lead through participation, clarity, and trust, while ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with set priorities and working methods. At the same time, you need to be able to make well-founded decisions, make necessary prioritizations, and keep the whole picture together in daily work, even when the pace is high and conditions change rapidly. You are responsible for translating political goals and governing documents into concrete assignments and following up results together with the operation. The role also involves work with collaboration, development issues, projects, and government grants linked to employment and labor market issues. In other words, this is a role where you get great opportunities to influence both the operation's development and people's everyday lives. YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in, for example, education, psychology, behavioral science, or social work. You have previous experience in management or leadership assignments with responsibility for operations, personnel, finances, and work environment. You have experience with change and development work and are good at creating clarity and momentum even when many things are happening simultaneously. Since the role involves responsibility for budget and follow-up, you need to have good financial understanding and be able to work strategically with resources and priorities. It is a merit if you have experience with employment issues, employment initiatives, or similar operations. If you have also worked with projects, government grants, or within a politically governed organization, we see that as an extra plus. YOUR NEW WORKPLACE The Employment Services Unit works with initiatives that should strengthen people's opportunities for employment or education while also contributing to the municipality's long-term skills supply. The operation is characterized by development, collaboration, and project-financed initiatives, which makes change and new working methods a natural part of everyday life. With us, you become part of an operation where cooperation, development, and faith in the future are important parts of everyday life. You get the opportunity to work closely with both employees, other operations, and external actors to create sustainable solutions that make a real difference for people and society. Skellefteå Municipality is a safe and developing employer with good opportunities for skills development, support in the leadership role, and a working life where there are unlimited opportunities to continue to grow. GOOD TO KNOW We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a cover letter, you answer a few selection questions and attach an updated CV.
