The Administrative Support Department is a governing, coordinating, and supporting function, primarily in region-wide processes for the technical and environmental/building committees, management, and administration operations. The department drives and supports business development in dialogue with other departments within the administration. The department also includes the administration's customer service. The department currently consists of two parts: the customer service unit with a responsible unit manager, and administrative support led operationally by the department manager.
We are now seeking a unit manager for the new management and operations support unit based in Visby. The unit will consist of approximately 15 employees, including business developers with various specializations, board secretaries, communicators, and administrative officers. A review is ongoing regarding which functions will be included in the unit. The unit manager will report to the department manager for administrative support.
Your Responsibilities
As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for leading, driving, and developing the unit's daily and operational work, as well as monitoring business goal achievement, productivity, and quality. Together with your unit, you will work to create the best possible conditions for close and good collaboration with the administration's operations.
You have full responsibility for the work environment of your employees, which includes employee meetings, workplace meetings, salary discussions, and individual competency development plans. You are responsible for recruiting and staffing new employees and for planning their onboarding.
Your responsibilities include managing operations and budget, as well as monitoring and evaluating business results. You are also responsible for the unit's internal processes and guide and support employees in case handling and board work. You view collaboration in its various forms as an important part of leadership, where work environment issues are central.
Who Are You?
We seek someone with an academic education in the relevant field and/or other relevant education and experience that we can assess as equivalent. You need to have previous leadership experience and be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Experience from a politically governed organization and a B driver's license are required.

Leadership training
Training in board work
Training in GDPR, archival knowledge, communication, or administration
Executive experience
Experience with board processes in public administration
Experience with qualified administrative tasks in public administration
Experience driving business development
Experience within the field
Experience working with GDPR and information security
Knowledge of archival matters
Good insight into standard IT support for administrative tasks
Good knowledge of the principle of public access and confidentiality
