The division commissions and coordinates new construction and renovations, maintenance measures, repairs and ongoing inspections. We are responsible for setting requirements, providing support and driving development within the entire technology, environment and climate field. About the position We are now seeking an energy engineer who wants to lead the administration's solar energy program and contribute to the future energy system in the City of Gothenburg's property portfolio. In the Energy and Environment unit, we are responsible for technical requirements, specialist support and development within the energy and environment field. We are now seeking an energy engineer with a focus on solar energy, and the assignment also includes energy efficiency, power optimization and development of future energy solutions. In the role, you will work both strategically and operatively to develop the administration's energy efforts. You will lead and further develop the administration's solar energy program, which aims to reduce purchased electricity needs, reduce climate impact and increase local renewable energy production. The administration currently has approximately 200 solar installations and is facing continued expansion with the goal of producing 35 GWh of solar electricity by 2030. At the same time, you will be an important part in developing the future energy system where issues such as battery storage, flexibility, power management, energy sharing and data-driven energy system optimization become increasingly important. Work tasks: Participate in the administration's strategic energy work to optimize energy use, power consumption, energy costs and climate impact at both property and system level Lead, coordinate and follow up the administration's solar energy program Prepare materials, feasibility studies and profitability analyses for measures and investments in the energy field with particular focus on solar energy and solar installations Provide specialist support in energy and solar cells in construction and management projects and review documents and technical solutions Responsible for technical requirements and guidelines (TKA) within the solar energy field and lead the administration's technical expert team within solar cells Initiate and drive development projects within the energy field focusing on, for example, solar cells, battery storage, power and flexibility solutions, energy communities and digital tools and AI-based energy system optimization Monitor the external environment and convert new knowledge within the energy field into practical solutions for the administration's operations Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant technical higher education and several years of experience working within the energy field. You have a good understanding of building energy systems and the interaction between building components and technical installations. You have experience with solar installations, local energy production, technical requirements setting within the energy field and evaluation of investments from a life cycle cost (LCC) perspective. It is an advantage if you have experience in energy efficiency, energy analyses and knowledge within battery storage, power issues, energy management and building construction. To succeed in the role, you are structured and analytical with the ability to convert complex issues into clear materials, requirements and recommendations. You work independently and take responsibility for driving investigations, analyses and development issues. At the same time, you thrive in a supportive role where you contribute specialist expertise to project managers, facility managers and other colleagues in the business as well as in construction projects. You also have a good ability to work cross-disciplinary and collaborate with other technical areas, such as construction, electrical and fire safety. We are looking for someone who is development-oriented and can identify improvement and development opportunities within the energy field. You have an interest in the future energy system and follow developments within solar energy, energy storage, power optimization and digital solutions. You have a good holistic perspective and the ability to weigh technical, economic and environmental considerations to contribute to the business and the city's long-term goals.
