The Department of Information Technology holds a leading position in both research and education at all levels. We are currently Uppsala University's third largest department with just over 350 employees, including 120 faculty members and 120 doctoral students. We are now seeking students who want to work as teaching assistants in Period 2. Duties Participation in instruction for the course listed below. Participation in instruction includes, for example, attending laboratory sessions and lectures, grading assignments, answering student questions, and supervising student projects. Courses marked with ENG are taught in English. Applications are submitted through Uppsala University's recruitment system. Period 2: 1MD031: Interface Programming with a User Perspective (ENG) If you have not been a teaching assistant before, the work duties also include a mandatory introduction day. Qualifications Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5. Only those admitted to education at the basic or advanced level may be employed as a teaching assistant (HF Chapter 5 §10). The applicant must demonstrate strong academic results, particularly in the subject area of the course they will assist with, and very good knowledge of English in both speech and writing. Desirable/Meritorious Qualifications Previous experience from participation in instruction on relevant courses at the higher education level is particularly meritorious. Experience with relevant IT systems (Studium) is desirable as well as good knowledge of Uppsala University's organization. Application Procedure The application should include a letter in which the applicant briefly describes their experience in instruction, languages, and knowledge (e.g., transcript). The application should further specify which course the applicant is interested in and an estimate of the number of hours they wish to work (per course and period, where the number of hours should total 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120). Please also attach your enrollment certificate. About the Position The employment is time-limited according to HF Chapter 5 § 12 until 2027-01-31 or by agreement. The extent is up to 50% depending on which period(s) and how many hours you work. Start date: 2026-10-19 or by agreement.
