We are now seeking several experienced Electrical Design Engineers who want to help build the maintenance operations of the future!
We are facing one of Vattenfall Electricity Distribution's largest investments ever – a historic concentration of resources to build stronger, more resilient, and entirely own capabilities in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. About the Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer with a focus on substations and control equipment, you are a key person in our reinvestment projects within the electricity grid 0.4–400 kV. You drive the design from requirements and technical decisions through to detailed design, procurement specifications, and finished documentation. The work is carried out mainly in collaboration with our own maintenance organization, which means you have close dialogue with those who will build, test, and operate the installation. In the role, you also ensure that working environment and safety are considered at all stages from design choices and work preparations to implementation and handover.
Your main duties and areas of responsibility:
Develop and quality assure design documentation (single-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, connection tables, installation guides, and layouts/cabinet layouts)
Prepare technical descriptions and documentation and provide technical support during implementation
Ensure that the design meets requirements, standards, and internal guidelines and contribute to technical decisions and solution discussions
Drive documentation all the way to handover, including updates and as-built documentation after construction/commissioning
Coordinate and establish requirements with contractors/suppliers for project parts where external resources are used
Where needed, work with protective relays/IED and communication in substation environments, such as IEC 61850, and support related to substation networks
Requirements Specification
We are looking for someone who is analytical and enjoys working with complex technical issues. You have good collaboration skills, enjoy sharing your expertise, and contribute to the team's overall performance. At the same time, you are responsible, drive your tasks to completion, and are comfortable asking for support when needed.
We would like you to have:
Post-secondary education in electrical power/electrotechnology (university/civil engineer degree) or equivalent experience-based competence
Experience in electrical design in a project environment
Experience preparing design documentation: single-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, connection tables, installation guides, and layouts/cabinet layouts
Good CAD skills
Structured and quality-conscious, take responsibility for technical deliverables and enjoy collaborating with many stakeholders
Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
B driving license
Meritorious:
Experience from distribution projects/substation and control installations
Protective relays/IED and IEC 61850 (configuration/testing, e.g. SCD/GOOSE/MMS where applicable)
Experience with testing/commissioning/troubleshooting of control installations
Experience with procurement specifications and technical support during procurement
Experience preparing as-built documentation and completing documentation after construction
