We are now seeking several experienced Electrical Design Engineers who want to help build the maintenance operations of the future! We are embarking on one of Vattenfall Eldistribution's largest initiatives ever – a historic mobilization to build stronger, more resilient, and entirely in-house capability for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. In a time when the world demands ever greater robustness and durability, we are taking decisive steps to ensure a power grid that can handle difficult conditions and delivers when it matters most. About the Role As an Electrical Power Design Engineer with a focus on substations and control equipment, you are a key person in our reinvestment projects within the power grid 0.4–400 kV. You drive the design from requirements and technical choices through detailed design, procurement documents, and complete documentation. The work is carried out primarily in close collaboration with our own maintenance organization, which means you have direct dialogue with those who will build, test, and operate the facility. In this role, you also ensure that occupational health and safety are considered at all stages, from design decisions and work preparation to implementation and handover. Your main tasks and areas of responsibility: Develop and quality assure design documentation (one-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, connection tables, assembly documentation, and layouts/switchboard layouts) Prepare technical descriptions and documentation and provide technical support during implementation Ensure that the design meets requirements, standards, and internal guidelines and contribute to technical choices and solution discussions Drive the documentation all the way through handover, including updates and as-built documentation after construction/commissioning Coordinate and set requirements for contractors/suppliers in the parts of the projects where external resources are used When needed, work with relay protection/IED and communication in substation environments, such as IEC 61850 and support related to substation networks Requirements Specification We are looking for someone who is analytical and enjoys working with complex technical issues. You have good collaboration skills, enjoy sharing your expertise, and contribute to the team's overall goals. At the same time, you are responsible, drive your tasks to completion, and are confident in asking for support when needed. We would like you to have: Post-secondary education in electrical power/electrical engineering (university/civil engineer degree) or equivalent experience-based competence Experience with electrical power design in a project environment Familiarity with preparing design documentation: one-line diagrams, circuit diagrams, connection tables, assembly documentation, and layouts/switchboard layouts Good CAD skills Structured and quality-conscious, takes responsibility for technical deliverables and thrives in collaboration with many stakeholders Very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written B-class driver's license Meritorious: Experience with distribution projects/substation and control systems Relay protection/IED and IEC 61850 (configuration/testing, such as SCD/GOOSE/MMS where relevant) Experience with testing/commissioning/troubleshooting of control systems Experience with procurement documentation and technical support during procurement Familiarity with preparing as-built documentation and completing documentation after construction Additional Information We offer an exciting work day and a good balance in life at an attractive workplace with good opportunities for development.
