DUTIES As a student support staff member at the elementary level, you work closely with students, teachers, and other staff to create a safe, accessible, and developmental learning environment. You support one or more students during the school day based on their individual needs and contribute to giving them the conditions to succeed both academically and socially. The assignment includes providing support in the classroom, during breaks, and during transitions between different activities. You help the student develop independence, structure, and social interaction, as well as work towards their participation in teaching and community with peers. The work is conducted in close collaboration with the teaching teacher, special educator, student welfare services, and guardians when needed. In the afternoon, you work as an after-school staff member in the after-school program. Together with colleagues, you plan, implement, and evaluate activities that stimulate students' development, creativity, and learning. You contribute to a safe and inclusive environment where students are given the opportunity for play, movement, creativity, and social community. You also participate in daily care work and actively work to ensure that the after-school program's activities are permeated by the school's values. You have a genuine interest in children's development and learning, as well as the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Merits Education as a childcare worker, student assistant, or other pedagogical education. Experience working with students in need of special support. Knowledge of NPF (neuropsychiatric disabilities) and adaptations in school environments. Experience working in after-school programs. Experience with clarifying pedagogy. Education in conflict management, low-intensity approach, or similar. Personal Qualities Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
