JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a student support staff member at junior high, you work closely with students, teachers, and other staff to create a safe, accessible, and developmental learning environment. You support one or more students throughout the school day based on their individual needs and help provide them with the conditions to succeed both academically and socially. The assignment includes providing support in the classroom, during breaks, and during transitions between different activities. You help the student develop independence, structure, and social interaction, and work toward their participation in teaching and community with peers. The work takes place in close collaboration with teaching teachers, special education teachers, student health services, and guardians when needed. Together with colleagues, you plan, implement, and evaluate activities that stimulate students' development and learning. You contribute to a safe and inclusive environment. We are looking for someone who is engaged, responsible, and flexible. You have a genuine interest in children's development and learning and the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are clear, calm, and confident in your interactions and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with children in school. Has a strong ability to build safe and positive relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Has a low-affect and solution-focused approach. Is clear, calm, and confident in your interactions. Has the ability to work independently while enjoying collaboration in work teams. Is flexible and can adapt your working methods based on students' varying needs. Has a good understanding of children's different circumstances and support needs. Can contribute to creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. Is responsible, proactive, and engaged in your work. Has good communication skills and speaks Swedish well in both speech and writing. Meritorious Education as a childcare worker, student assistant, or other pedagogical education. Experience working with students in need of special support. Knowledge of NPF (neuropsychiatric functional disabilities) and adaptations in the school environment. Education in conflict management, low-affect interaction, or similar. Personal Qualities Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
