Welcome to Gärdsåsskolan! We are undergoing changes and became an F-9 school in fall 2026, and we started an adapted primary school for grades 7–9. We are seeking two committed and skilled student assistants for our adapted primary school. Be part of shaping a newly launched operation with us! Job Responsibilities As a student assistant in an adapted primary school, you work closely with students who need special support and provide important assistance in their knowledge development and social development throughout the school day. You support students in instruction based on the teacher's planning by clarifying instructions, adapting materials, and creating structure and security in the learning environment. The work can involve providing individual support to one student or supporting several students in a group, depending on their needs. An important part of your role is to contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive environment through a low-affect approach and a clear working method. You help students develop independence, communication, and social skills, and support transitions between activities and during breaks. Your responsibilities may also include: Support in communication, for example through AAC (alternative and augmentative communication) Practical support with meals, mobility, and personal care situations as needed Collaboration with teachers, special educators, student welfare services, and guardians About the School Gärdsåsskolan is currently a school with grades 4-9, but became an F-9 school in fall 2026 with an adapted primary school in grades 7-9. The school has room for approximately 660 students and is located at Kortedala torg. There are good transportation connections. Here we want every student to feel a desire to learn and have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in all subjects. We also work to strengthen students' social competence, creativity, and responsibility – important qualities both in school and in life. Qualifications We are looking for someone with upper secondary education plus additional education in the field (care, children and recreation). For this position, experience working in an adapted primary school is required. You must also have experience working with people with various disabilities. For this position, it is an advantage if you have experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). As a person, you are attentive and a good communicator. You work in a structured way with individual adaptations and clarifying pedagogy, and you have a low-affect approach. You have good collaboration skills and can build trusting relationships with both colleagues, students, and guardians. You are confident in yourself and your professional role.
