The Children and Education Department in Vimmerby municipality is responsible for all educational activities, from preschool to higher education, and also handles Swedish for immigrants (sfi) and civic orientation for newly arrived residents. JOB DUTIES We are looking for a teacher's aide to cover a temporary position from September 21, 2026 through January 22, 2027. The position is 90% full-time. As a teacher's aide, you are a key person for students who need special support in their school day and you play an important role in supporting and promoting learning and well-being among our students. Your task is to create good conditions for student development and learning, as well as to provide security and structure in daily life. You work closely with our teachers and function as a resource in the classroom while providing individual support to specific students. You work to create a positive and secure atmosphere in both the classroom and on the school grounds with the goal of increasing student independence and reducing their need for support from you as a teacher's aide. In cooperation with other school staff, you work to create the best conditions for students, guardians and colleagues to thrive and feel secure in the school's activities. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who: • Are trained as a teacher's aide or childcare worker, or alternatively have experience in similar work. • Have experience working with children and youth with special needs. • Have previous experience working as a teacher's aide, which is meritorious. • Have previous experience working in a school environment. • Have experience assisting with medication. As a person, we see that you are secure, stable and positive. You are calm and attentive in your interactions with others and have the ability to adapt both your approach and communication in a pedagogical way based on the recipient's needs and the current situation. You conduct yourself in a way that is adapted to the situation and view relationships in their proper perspective, distinguishing between the personal and the professional. This helps you create good and trustful relationships with both students, guardians and colleagues. The assignment also requires that you are someone who is confident in structuring your own work based on current needs. At the same time, we value good teamwork where you work to create an open and unpretentious collaborative climate where challenges can be solved efficiently and where everyone takes shared responsibility for the daily work but also for the overall development of the activities.
