Tellusborgsskolan is a culturally focused grades 6-9 school with approximately 750 students in Midsommarkransen.
We work with cultural forms of expression including visual arts, music, and theater. These forms of expression create experiences and bring the school's subjects to life in meaningful ways, partly through our recurring thematic projects.
The school is organized into grade-level work teams that include teachers, teaching assistants, and special educators. Each team is led by an assistant principal.
Job Description
As a teaching assistant, you will work together with teachers and other student support staff to provide students with support and motivation for learning, and to some extent support students in their personal development.
You will be able to manage groups when needed, such as working with a smaller group from a class or stepping in as a substitute.
You will be a personal resource for student(s) who need support in their school day, so that based on their own circumstances they can develop as much as possible.
You are expected to be familiar with the support measures and accommodations available for the student(s) and to support them in their schoolwork.
The position may include supporting a student with autism, diabetes, or epilepsy.
Qualifications
You must be a calm, reliable, and organized person who can handle difficult situations. You should have the ability to read and adapt your actions based on the situation.
You must be able to vary between sometimes maintaining distance and sometimes working more actively, depending on the student and situation.
You have good collaboration skills and can build positive relationships, as the work involves many points of contact with students, staff, and guardians.
You have a good ability to express yourself and make yourself understood in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is advantageous if you have previous experience working in a similar position.
Experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous.
Knowledge of diabetes or epilepsy is advantageous.
Other Information
This position is a temporary assignment for the school year 26/27.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
During school breaks, when students are not present, the position involves working on other tasks such as custodial work, cleaning, or in after-school programs.
