You may work with an individual student, a small group, or provide support to the entire class. During lessons, you clarify the teacher's instructions and support students in their learning. When needed, you may also lead lessons according to the teacher's planning. The work may also include our after-school activities before and after the school day. An important part of the assignment is to support students in practical tasks, such as toilet visits and diaper changes, recess activities, meals, lifting and transfers, and meeting students at the taxi. You contribute to students' social development by supporting them in their interactions with others, and you follow their self-care plans, which may include testing blood sugar, administering medication, or conducting tube feeding. You also work closely with guardians, the school's student health team, and other external professionals, such as rehabilitation services and LSS (community support services). You also collaborate with other activities at the school. About the Workplace: Navetskolan is an adapted primary school for students with intellectual disabilities. The school is located in central Asarum and offers education for grades 1–9, which currently consists of approximately 60 students. Navetskolan consists of four departments, located at Stenbackanavet, in the Lindemo area, and in a building adjacent to Klockebacksskolan. The school has approximately 50 employees, educators, and student assistants, who work together in teams.
