As a student assistant at Malmabergsskolan, you will work closely with a student who has significant support needs in preschool class throughout the day, in both the school's teaching and at the after-school program. The goal is to create conditions for the student's learning, security, participation, and independence based on the student's individual needs. Welcome! Your responsibilities You provide support in teaching based on the teacher's planning and help the student structure, plan, and carry out their schoolwork. By clarifying instructions, creating predictability, and providing support during transitions and social situations, you contribute to the student having good conditions to develop, feel secure, and achieve greater independence. During after-school time, you support the student in play, activities, and social contexts, and help manage situations that require structure, interaction, or emotional regulation. There is an opportunity to switch with another colleague if we see that it becomes demanding, as your work environment should be sustainable and good in order to successfully provide the support the student needs. You work in close collaboration with teachers, after-school program staff, student services, school nurse, and guardians. The role requires a professional approach, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to adapt your support based on the student's daily condition and individual needs. Your qualifications We are looking for someone with a valid upper secondary education and experience working with children and young people. It is a plus if you are trained as a student assistant or have other relevant education, as well as if you have experience working with students in special education and autism. The work requires knowledge to handle computers and other technical aids in daily work. As a person, you are confident and stable with good self-awareness, and you have the ability to adapt your approach based on the situation. You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and find it easy to organize your work. You are flexible, collaborate well with others, and build relationships in a natural and trustworthy way. With your pedagogical insight, you can adapt your working methods to the individual's needs.
