We at Ilandaskolan are now looking for a student assistant. Ilandaskolan is a middle school and adapted primary school with approximately 500 students from grades 7 to 9. The school is located by Ilandatjärn with proximity to Stodeneskogen and Ilanda IP. Responsibilities As a student assistant at middle school, you have a varied and important role where you contribute to creating safety, order, and good conditions for students' learning and development. You provide support to one or more students during the school day and are present as a trusted adult during instruction, at recess, and in other situations where students need support, structure, or guidance. You work closely with teachers and other staff to create a calm, inclusive, and accessible learning environment where students have the opportunity to succeed both academically and socially. An important part of the role is to contribute to classroom order, strengthen students' sense of responsibility, and support them in social contexts and relationships. The role may also include meeting with students who need extra support in managing emotions, conflicts, or other challenges in the school situation. Through clarity, relationship-building, and a professional approach, you contribute to a safe school environment where all students have the opportunity to develop according to their abilities. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is educated as a student assistant or has experience that the employer deems equivalent. To thrive and succeed in the role, you are a trustworthy and relationship-building person who finds it easy to create trusting relationships with students and colleagues at school. You actively contribute to a school environment characterized by safety, respect, and order, and have the ability to meet students in a professional and inclusive manner. You have the ability to work independently and can take initiative within the scope of your role. By being attentive to students' needs and school situations in everyday life, you act proactively to create structure, prevent conflicts, and support students' development and learning. At the same time, you collaborate well with teachers and other staff to provide students with the best possible conditions for successful school days. You have good communication skills and adapt your way of expressing yourself based on the audience and situation. You can create clarity around expectations, provide support and guidance to students, and contribute to constructive dialogue with colleagues and students. The work requires integrity and sound judgment. You can set clear and professional boundaries while building trusting relationships. You handle sensitive information responsibly and act according to the school's mission and students' best interests. At times, the work can be both challenging and require great perseverance. You have the ability to remain calm in pressured situations, create safety for students, and contribute to classroom order even when conditions change.
