Ref: 20261855 Job Responsibilities In your role as a student assistant, you will work with one or more students/groups of students in school, preschool class, and after-school care. You will participate in planning and implement and evaluate pedagogical work with students together with the responsible educator in accordance with your assignment. The student assistant contributes to high quality pedagogical content based on the curriculum's goals and intentions. The student assistant helps promote students' development. The assignment may include care for individual students and/or work with students with physical or cognitive disabilities. The student assistant works based on documentation provided about students, such as pedagogical documentation or medical action plans. Work as a student assistant involves varied tasks depending on the nature of the individual assignment. Collaboration occurs with other professions and functions at the school. When needed, contact with guardians may be part of the assignment. The student assistant may, depending on the assignment, work in after-school care, in all levels of the school, or in preschool class. Support for students during lessons and other school activities Responsibility for daily management of diabetes, such as blood sugar checks Administration of insulin according to instructions and delegation Monitor and respond to hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia Be a secure support during breaks, meals, and activities Work in after-school care following school hours together with other staff Contribute to good study environment, structure, and social safety Qualifications You have completed upper secondary education. If it is from a child and youth program or equivalent, we consider this a merit. You need to have at least two years of experience including work with children and youth. You further have experience working with children with diabetes or other medical issues. You have medical knowledge, for example through work in healthcare, school, or social services. If you have experience working in school or after-school care, we consider this a merit, as well as if you have experience with delegated medical tasks. You have knowledge of how various disabilities affect students' learning and how to best compensate for these, as well as knowledge of the school's curriculum and other documents that govern school operations. You also have knowledge of low-arousal approaches. We are looking for someone who is calm, attentive, and confident in acute situations. We also see that you have good collaboration skills and communicate clearly, take responsibility, and have a professional approach.
