We are now seeking a student assistant for Rosenkälla School. 1 position(s). WORK RESPONSIBILITIES In your role as a student assistant, you will work with one or more students in a smaller instructional group during the school day, as well as at the after-school program before and/or after school ends. The teacher has primary responsibility for instruction in the smaller instructional group and at the after-school program. Your focus in this role is to work closely with the student(s) and provide both social and learning support during lessons, in activities during breaks, and at the after-school program. You will sometimes also serve as a link to guardians for certain students you work closely with, where collaboration is required for the student to attend school and succeed with their schoolwork. Work responsibilities include: - Motivating, supporting, and helping students both in their daily activities during a school day as well as supporting social relationships and providing guidance around instructional situations. - Being a role model for students and having the ability to handle acute problem situations with colleagues and resolve conflicts. - Communicating and building relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. - Working preventatively and long-term. - Before and/or after school, you will work together with your colleagues at the after-school program with all tasks that occur there. We work from the school's curriculum and our activities are permeated by strong confidence in students' abilities. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking someone with experience working with children with neurodevelopmental diagnoses. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of visual supports. An important quality is that you have the competence to build relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You also have the ability to motivate and support students both in learning situations and socially during breaks and after-school time. You see the positive in each individual and are convinced that everyone has the ability to learn, and that your approach is one of the most important factors in students' success.
