Ekeskolan is located in Örebro and teaches students with visual impairment and additional disabilities from preschool through grade 10. The teaching should contribute to good conditions for students' development and learning as well as improved academic results. Our staff works extensively with form and sensory experiences for all senses. We offer boarding for students who cannot commute to school daily.
Ekeskolan is part of the Swedish Agency for Special Education and offers students with visual impairment combined with additional disabilities an education adapted to each student's conditions.

DUTIES
We are now seeking a student assistant for Ekeskolan in Örebro.
Your main responsibilities are to be present to provide students with security and support during the school day. We offer you exciting work where we focus on the students. We work extensively with different types of communication and place great emphasis on language development across all school activities. As a student assistant in our operations, you work for the benefit of the entire student group. The student assistant's area of responsibility is to support students' development in close collaboration and dialogue with teachers. You help create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation.
As a student assistant, you are to support all students in having equal conditions to develop and follow along in the teaching.
In close cooperation with school leadership, teachers, and other student assistants in the student group, you participate in planning the work.
You have an active role in school activities and student care during the school day. You are also expected to participate in activities such as swimming, student trips, etc.
Your responsibilities may also include working at the school's after-school program or student housing in the mornings.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
• Upper secondary school competence, e.g., Child and Recreation Program, Care and Social Services Program with a focus on disabilities, or other education deemed appropriate by the employer
• Basic knowledge of child development and various disabilities
• Basic computer skills
Your ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish is an important part of the students' education.
It is meritorious if you have:
• Knowledge of low-arousal approach
• Knowledge of visual impairment and guidance
• Knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities
• Knowledge of ICDP (International Child Development Programme), guiding interaction
• Knowledge of alternative communication methods such as picture support, tactile support, and TAKK
• Knowledge of medical care
• Knowledge of mobility disabilities
Personal qualities:
As a student assistant at Ekeskolan, you are expected to be involved in the planning, implementation, and development of activities. Social interaction and communication are important in our work. This requires that you are flexible and have good collaboration skills with your colleagues, management, guardians, and school staff. We value qualities such as secure, stable, reliable, and responsive, and have the ability to recognize small progress.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Employment form: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-17 or by agreement, end date: 2027-06-11.
