Adapted Primary School in Lerum consists of three units: Adapted Primary School Knappekullaskolan (grades 1-5), Adapted Primary School Centralskolan (grades 1-5), and Adapted Primary School Rydsbergsskolan (grades 6-9). Each school unit is well integrated within its respective school, and there is deliberate work to ensure the adapted primary school is visible and participatory in the development processes at each school. Adapted Primary School in Lerum has a well-developed systematic quality assurance process based on scientific methods, where teaching development occurs in a community of practice with an action research approach. Our prioritized goals at the units are accessible learning environments and a scientific approach. We are facing an exciting project in which a completely new grades K-9 school will be built in the near future. When the school is completed, the adapted primary school in Lerum, grades 1-9, will be located together on one campus. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES Being a teaching assistant often means holding an in-between role. It requires sensitivity and good judgment in many situations. You will support the student in the educational setting but do not have pedagogical responsibility. It is expected that you maintain a close relationship with the student but remain professional. You are one of those who can interpret the student's signals and stay one step ahead without overstepping. To the greatest extent possible, you should give the student the opportunity to solve situations and problems independently. Together with other staff, you are expected to have a positive relationship with the family but be clear about the boundaries of your professional role. You also look out for the student's interests without showing favoritism or giving the student advantages compared to others in the student group. QUALIFICATIONS You must have good collaboration skills and be comfortable working in a team with teachers, leisure-time pedagogues, and other teaching assistants. You must have an interest in working with children and young people with intellectual disabilities. Merits include: knowledge and training in AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) and Low Arousal Approach. Completed and approved secondary education that must be documented with a diploma.
