Description At Gårdstensskolan, students in grades 4-9 and adapted primary school grades 4-9 study together. We are now seeking student assistants who want to help contribute to students' school experience! Work Tasks As a student assistant with us you are offered varied work where no two days are the same. You participate in both pedagogical and social contexts around students at school and in the after-school program. The work is based on the target group's needs and may include support in teaching situations at individual and group level, care and personal hygiene assistance. Clear social responsibility in the school's common areas to strengthen safety at school is also part of the assignment. Students may need different forms of communication such as Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) or Sign Language as support. The assignment involves working with a low-affect approach with great focus on attitude and approach. In your role as student assistant you are part of a work team with multiple professionals where you have close collaboration around the students. Together you ensure that each student gets the opportunity and motivation to develop into an independent individual based on their abilities. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has completed upper secondary education, preferably with a focus that has given you knowledge about our target group. You have experience helping at group level in classrooms and after-school programs. We also see that you have experience working with people with various disabilities. If you have training in care and/or experience with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), that is also a merit for the position. The role also requires that you can express yourself fluently in Swedish both orally and in writing. We are looking for someone who is calm and confident. You see everyone's differences as an asset and are curious about finding solutions to difficulties that students may encounter in the learning environment. Collaboration is a requirement and a given for you. In your professional role you are expected to be able to cooperate with other professionals and with guardians for the student's best interest. This also places demands for great attentiveness. The work may involve students needing close support from you as a student assistant for all or part of their day at school and in the after-school program.
