Skärgårdsskolan is a preschool through grade 3 school located in Holmsund with proximity to the sea and forest. The school is centrally located in the community with easy access to both municipal facilities and nature. Skärgårdsskolan is one of Umeå municipality's practice schools, which means that during the school year it receives student teachers for their workplace-based education (VFU). We are now looking for you who want to work with us as a student assistant this fall! Employment Information One position as a temporary employee, full-time, starting as soon as possible by agreement until 2026-12-31. Your Responsibilities In this position, you will support a student in grade 1 who has type 1 diabetes. The work involves creating security during the school day, providing support as needed, and following the student's diabetes routines in collaboration with school staff and guardians. Work as a student assistant also means that you provide individual support to other students in their learning based on given instructions and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment. You collaborate with teachers and other staff regarding the student's needs and support students in structure, focus, and participation in instruction. The role also includes being an adult support in the school's daily operations, a resource in the classroom and after-school program, and when needed, assisting during breaks or other activities. Work tasks are adapted to the needs of the activity and students. About You You are a secure adult and a good role model who finds it easy to connect with students and see each individual. You create a safe and stimulating environment in the school and collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and organized. You enjoy working with children in need of special support and are an important part of their school day. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills, are responsive, and communicate in a professional manner with both students, families, and other people involved in the students' lives. You are engaged, share our values, and work toward set goals with a focus on continuous improvement. Personal suitability is very important to us. Requirements Completed upper secondary education Experience with children and collaboration with adults Valid extract from the criminal records register Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written Meritorious Care education Experience with diabetes We warmly welcome your application today!
