Stålhamraskolan is a grades F-6 school with approximately 290 students and has two classes per grade level in lower grades and one class per grade level in middle grades. The adapted elementary school, with students studying subjects and subject areas, has an enrollment of approximately 50 students where both teachers and assistants work with the children. Stålhamraskolan also has a municipality-wide special instruction group and students in a Finnish profile program. We operate in a multicultural environment and have the privilege of working with people from many different countries. This gives the school tremendous dynamism. We work to create a safe school environment during lessons, breaks, and recreational time. The student support team works to provide the support and assistance needed at both individual and group levels. At Stålhamraskolan, we actively engage in collegial learning to continually develop our staff and, by extension, the entire school. We are now seeking additional teaching assistants for our after-school programs. These positions are a temporary expansion of staff for both the regular elementary school and the adapted elementary school. All positions are 50% and scheduled for afternoons. Your Tasks In your role as a teaching assistant, you will support classroom activities, work with groups and individual students, and assist in creating a positive learning environment. In close collaboration with classroom teachers and the student support team, you will help ensure that students receive the guidance and stimulation they need in their learning and personal development. As a teaching assistant, you will provide direct support to students and may work individually, with small groups, and in regular classroom settings. You may also have a consulting and mentoring role with colleagues and school leadership. You will be part of the school's student support system and participate in preventive and health-promoting activities so that all students receive adequate support. The work involves many interactions with students, staff, and guardians. We are seeking a clear leader in both the classroom and among colleagues who, with warmth and firmness, contributes to Stålhamraskolan's development. We want you to have experience working as a teaching assistant and to be independent in your tasks. You understand that learning occurs throughout the school day and value collaboration with colleagues where you share responsibility for students. Who Are You? Requirements: - You have experience working with children and students - You have strong communication skills and express yourself clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing - You are certified in swimming Meritorious: - You are trained as a childcare provider or teaching assistant - You have experience working with children and students with special needs We place great importance on your personal qualities.
