If you've worked with electronics design for a few years, you know the job rarely ends when your shift is over. In this role, you follow the electronics all the way through. You design circuit boards, select components, solve problems together with production, and troubleshoot when something doesn't behave as intended. In certain projects, you may also go out into the field and see the system used in practice. You'll become part of an electronics section within the defense industry responsible for the electronics in several products and currently building up more of its expertise internally. This means you'll have a broad role, but also the opportunity to influence how design, layout, EMC, and production-oriented development should work going forward. ABOUT THE ROLE With our client, you'll be part of a small section with shared responsibility for the electronics in several products and systems. The team works with, among other things, circuit boards, cabling, troubleshooting, production support, and further development of existing designs. You'll work on both new development and changes to products already in production. This means the work doesn't end when the design is complete. You follow the solution through verification, integration, and production and help solve technical problems as they arise. The work also includes requirements specification and documentation, and you collaborate closely with colleagues in, among other things, mechanics, systems, production, and other electronics areas. Depending on your background and interests, there's an opportunity to specialize in, for example, EMC, PCB layout, power, production, or systems issues. If you're interested, there's also an opportunity to participate in installation, testing, and fieldwork, which may involve some travel. WORK TASKS Design and further develop electronics and circuit boards Work with schematic design and component selection Develop technical requirements and translate them into functional designs Participate in PCB layout and collaborate on design implementation Test, verify, and troubleshoot electronics Manage technical changes and improvements to existing products Support production with troubleshooting and product-related questions Work with cabling and integration with other parts of the system Document designs, changes, verification, and technical decisions Collaborate with, among others, systems engineers, mechanical designers, and production WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO Has a higher education or master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or equivalent Has several years of relevant work experience in electronics Has practical experience with, for example, schematic design, circuit board design, component selection, verification, or troubleshooting Is accustomed to working systematically with requirements and technical documentation Is fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written We think you'll thrive best here if you enjoy solving concrete technical problems and can work methodically in an environment where requirements, documentation, and quality are important parts of the development work. You don't need to come from exactly the same type of product or industry. What's important is that you have a solid foundation in electronics and want to continue working close to the actual design. For example, you may have had a broader technical responsibility or worked as a technical project manager or systems engineer and now want to get closer to electronics development again. ABOUT THE POSITION This is a consulting assignment where you'll be employed by Friday and work for a larger Swedish technology company in the defense industry. The position requires that you complete and be approved according to applicable security clearance regulations. For positions where the Company has requirements for security clearance, this may, if applicable, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
