Housing and Environment Department announces an open competition for the Management Supervision Division of the Management Directorate of the Municipal Residential Facilities Technical Maintenance Sector building engineer position (the position has a civil servant status) The Housing and Environment Department (hereinafter – Department) implements a unified housing and environment policy of Riga City Municipality (hereinafter – Municipality) with the aim of promoting a work culture where importance is placed on work performed and results achieved. We will entrust you with: participating in decision-making regarding the renovation of Municipality residential buildings and facilities; preparing cost estimates for simplified renovation of Municipality residential properties and initiating procurement/price inquiries for technical documentation; evaluating repair cost estimates submitted by procurement candidates and residential building managers, providing opinions on their compliance with regulatory acts and established requirements; ensuring quality inspection of repair work contracted by the Department, conducting site inspections, and participating in the handover of renovated facilities/buildings into operation; evaluating cases of unauthorized construction carried out in Municipality premises and organizing remediation of its consequences in accordance with regulatory requirements. We expect: higher education in construction (at minimum, first-level professional higher education in construction), preferably with a certificate in building construction management and construction supervision; work experience in the specialty of at least 1 (one) year; desired work experience in a state or municipal institution; state language proficiency at the highest level, C1 level, and the ability to prepare high-quality documents; ability to analyze situations, make decisions, and resolve problem situations, as well as the ability to work in a team and independently organize your work; ability to work with BIS, MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams). We offer: stable remuneration (gross salary of 1,700.- EUR per month during the trial period, 2,000.- EUR per month after the trial period); health insurance policy after 3 (three) months; up to 10 (ten) additional vacation days; vacation allowance; remote and flexible work options (after the trial period) and other benefits; work location at Brīvības iela 86, Riga.
