No. 90011524360) institution Riga City Municipality Department of City Development invites applications for a permanent position in the Office for the Preservation of Cultural and Historical Heritage Expert in the field of cultural heritage The Riga City Municipality Department of City Development is the leading institution of Riga City Municipality in the field of strategic development of Riga city, ensuring balanced development planning of the capital and promoting the competitiveness of the city's economy. The Office for the Preservation of Cultural and Historical Heritage of the Department of City Development ensures the protection of locally significant cultural monuments, and promotes, identifies and supports the preservation, research and promotion of Riga's unique and diverse cultural and historical heritage. We will entrust you with: • monitoring and controlling the preservation of locally significant cultural monuments and compliance with protection standards; • participating in the assessment of construction intentions for locally significant cultural monuments in accordance with applicable cultural monument protection regulations. Preparing work permits for locally significant cultural monuments; • maintaining the documentation database of locally significant cultural monuments and the collection of informative documentation available to the Office; carrying out activities related to updating, supplementing, renewing and recording of said documents; • conducting research of potentially culturally and historically valuable heritage objects, preparing reports for determining the level of cultural and historical value of objects; • conducting inspections of locally significant cultural monuments; preparing or supplementing documentation records, documenting the work performed; participating in the acceptance of objects into operation; • preparing information for owners (managers) of cultural monuments regarding the use and preservation of cultural monuments and the prevention of violations of protection standards; • consulting within the scope of your competence owners (managers) and the public regarding questions of cultural heritage preservation; • providing suggestions for the preparation of Riga territory planning, local plans, detailed plans and their amendments; participating in their review and discussion; • participating in the development of proposals for the preservation and development of significant cultural and historical heritage objects; • participating in projects related to cultural and historical heritage; • preparing and providing suggestions for the development of regulatory act drafts; • preparing draft responses, administrative acts and reference materials. We expect: • higher education in architecture or art history, with desirable additional education in the field of cultural heritage; • knowledge of regulatory acts necessary for the performance of job duties; • good practical skills for working with Word, Excel, Outlook software and office equipment; • work experience corresponding to the position competencies - 2 years / professional experience corresponding to the position competencies; • ability to prepare business correspondence documents – knowledge of record management principles; • effective planning skills; • professional communication skills; • knowledge of the state language.
