WORK TASKS About the role Do you want to help develop management, monitoring, and analysis in an agency that makes a real difference? We are now seeking an Economics Controller for our management support team. The role focuses on economic management, and we are looking for someone who wants to contribute qualified support to leadership through financial analysis, planning, monitoring, and development. As an economics controller, you support the leadership and have overall responsibility for economic matters within the business area you support. You work in a cross-functional management support team tasked with supporting the business area in its management and development. You work with economic planning, budgeting, monitoring, and analysis to ensure that resources are used effectively and in line with the agency's overall goals. An important part of your role is to support the business area's leadership in proactively managing by identifying opportunities, risks, and development needs at an early stage. You provide information and analyses that strengthen decision-making and enable long-term and strategic resource allocation. In this role, you work closely with the responsible functions for the agency's overall economic and operational management and standards. You are part of a network of economics controllers from other business areas where you together contribute to the development of uniform working methods, routines, and processes. Through your work, you support both the business area's leadership and the agency's long-term development and ability to achieve its strategic goals. Work tasks • Provide advice and support to managers on matters related to budgeting, forecasts, and economic monitoring • Prepare economic analyses and reports to support leadership decision-making • Ensure that operations comply with guidelines and regulations for financial management • Contribute to developing and implementing uniform working methods and processes for economic management • Participate in change projects related to economic processes and efficiency improvements • Support the business area with calculations, investment assessments, and cost analyses • Collaborate with operations controllers and other functions to link economics to operational goals QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • Relevant academic education in economics • Several years of experience working as an economist in state operations or other public sector • Good knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and economic regulations in the public sector • Experience working with economic analyses and reporting for decision support • Very good proficiency working in economic systems and other relevant digital tools • Ability to present economic information in a clear and pedagogical way • Ability to express yourself well orally or in Swedish sign language and in writing Merits: • Good knowledge of state accounting • Experience related to the business area's mission Personal qualities • You are analytical, structured, and solution-oriented • You are collaborative and have the ability to build good relationships within and outside the organization • You are proactive and drive your work independently while contributing to overall common goals • You have a holistic perspective and can link economic analyses to operational goals and challenges • You are communicative and can explain complex issues and economic relationships in a pedagogical way Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Since your colleagues are geographically dispersed, collaboration and meetings largely take place digitally via Zoom, Teams, and Skype.
