About the job As a controller, you work to support the authority's managers with financial governance issues in budgeting and forecasting, in monitoring and analyzing financial outcomes, and in general support on financial matters. In the role, you participate in working groups for the development of financial processes and associated system support. You are involved in the authority's work with annual reports and financial statements together with the accounting function within the unit and participate in work with budget documentation. In the role, you collaborate with your controller colleagues and other functions on the authority's overarching governance issues. An important part of your work is to support operations managers in being proactive in governance by identifying opportunities, risks, and development needs at an early stage. You contribute with data and analyses that strengthen decision-making and enable long-term and strategic resource allocation. You are a superuser in various IT systems for planning and monitoring and administer, support users, and continuously develop these. The position is located at the Finance Unit within the Operations Support Department. The unit consists of nine controllers, five accounting economists, and the authority's finance director. Read more at www.skolverket.se/jobb For this job you should have - an academic degree in economics, or alternatively other education in combination with experience that we assess as relevant - several years of current experience as a controller in a larger organization - several years of current experience providing qualified support to managers on matters concerning budget work, forecasts, and financial monitoring - current experience with developing financial analyses and reports to support management decision-making - experience managing and developing system support for budgets and financial monitoring - very good proficiency using financial systems and relevant digital tools for the role, such as U4BW, Raindance, or SAP - very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing - good knowledge of English in speech and writing It is meriting if you have experience with digital tools for structuring and visualizing information. It is also meriting if you have good experience participating in working groups related to developing and improving processes and routines within finance. It is also meriting if you have good knowledge of the state regulations for financial and operations governance. As a person you need to - have very good collaboration skills and be able to build good relationships with your colleagues in the unit, managers, and other key people in the organization - be communicative and able to explain complex issues and financial relationships in a pedagogical way - be self-driven and flexible and take great responsibility for driving your work forward even if circumstances change - have good service mindedness and interest in helping others succeed in the common mission - be organized and able to plan and organize your work efficiently - be interested in and have the ability to manage and develop IT systems Important to know The application deadline is September 27.
