There are CFO roles where the assignment is primarily about maintaining financial order. And then there are roles where you sit in the midst of operations, close to production, people, and the decisions that shape the future. At Boliden Zinkgruvan, the latter awaits you. Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters, and at Zinkgruvan just outside Askersund, Sweden's oldest operating mine is located. As chief financial officer, you'll have broad responsibility for accounting and finance, but most importantly, a position with the opportunity to influence. You'll be part of the management team, report to the CEO, and lead an accounting function with ten employees. At the same time, you'll become part of an industrial operation where financial decisions, production, investments, and long-term development are closely interconnected. "We're looking for a CFO who is curious about the entire operation. You need to understand what's behind the numbers, see where we're headed, and use your expertise to help us make really good decisions," says Peter Bergman, Area Manager at Boliden Zinkgruvan. Your Future Challenge As chief financial officer, you won't be the person who comes in at the end of the process to calculate an already-made decision. You're expected to contribute along the way. With analysis, business acumen, and financial understanding, you'll be an important sparring partner for the CEO and the rest of the management team. Sometimes it's about investments and profitability, sometimes about cost development, management, or how the operation should prioritize going forward. And the role requires integrity. "We want someone who dares to have an opinion. You need to be able to challenge us in the management team, stand behind your analysis, and say no when you see that we need to choose a different path. That's an important part of being a really good business partner," Peter continues. Zinkgruvan is part of Boliden, an international corporation characterized by a global matrix organization. You therefore need to be able to combine independent responsibility on site with the ability to navigate a larger corporation's structures, reporting channels, and common working methods. As chief financial officer, you'll lead a function with ten employees and have the opportunity to set direction for both people and working methods. Here we need a manager who creates clarity and engagement, who dares to set requirements, and who at the same time gets people to grow. You'll also drive the continued development of the accounting function by improving financial management models, processes, routines, and working methods. And perhaps that's where the role becomes most interesting. You'll have overall financial responsibility, but also the opportunity to use it for something greater: to develop management, strengthen the team, and influence the direction of an operation with a long history and a clear place in the future of metal supply. Examples of Responsibilities: Lead and develop the accounting function and its ten employees. Serve as strategic advisor and business partner to the CEO and management team. Responsible for financial management, controlling, accounting, and financial reporting. Drive budget, forecast, and business planning processes. Responsible for operational follow-up, KPIs, and financial analysis. Contribute to business development and profitability initiatives and prepare decision-making materials for investments and strategic initiatives. Develop financial management models, processes, routines, and working methods. Responsible for financial statements, taxation, liquidity, financing, audits, legal matters, and compliance. Ensure that accounting work complies with applicable regulations, accounting principles, and internal guidelines. Are You the Person We're Looking For? We're looking for someone with: A degree in business administration or another relevant academic education in accounting. Multiple years of experience in qualified roles within accounting, such as chief financial officer, CFO, or controller. Experience in industrial operations and good understanding of operation-focused financial management. Experience leading and developing an accounting function. Solid experience in financial management, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting and bookkeeping. Experience with change and improvement initiatives and good systems expertise. Fluent Swedish and English, spoken and written. Experience with SAP is a plus. As a person, you're confident in your leadership and have the ability to combine a strategic perspective with presence in operations. You're analytical, business-oriented, and trustworthy, with integrity enough to stand behind your judgment and challenge when needed. At the same time, you're unpretentious and committed to developing both people and working methods.
