You will support the company's accounting work and handle ongoing bookkeeping, reconciliations, reporting, and preparation of financial statements and annual reports. This role is ideal for you if you are studying or have recently studied economics, accounting, or finance and want to apply your knowledge to real work tasks. You don't need to be a Fortnox expert already, but you should be interested in learning the system and understanding how accounting works in a smaller company. About the Role As an Accounting Assistant / Accounting Economist Intern, you will support the company in its ongoing accounting work. You will work with real financial documents and learn how bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT reporting, year-end closing, and financial monitoring are handled. The work is conducted primarily in Fortnox. If you haven't worked in the system before, you will have the opportunity to learn it during your time with us. The role combines ongoing administration and accounting with financial analysis and reporting. You will also be able to contribute suggestions on how the company's accounting routines can be structured, automated, and improved. Your tasks may include: * Work with ongoing bookkeeping in Fortnox. * Register, code, and verify transactions. * Manage and organize receipts, invoices, and other financial documents. * Ensure that expenses and revenues are posted to the correct accounts and periods. * Reconcile bank accounts, balance accounts, and recorded transactions. * Verify that bookkeeping is complete and that proper documentation exists. * Support work with customer and vendor invoices. * Prepare documentation for VAT declarations and other reporting to the Swedish Tax Agency. * Assist with accruals and basic year-end closing work. * Compile and quality-assure documentation for annual financial statements and annual reports. * Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports. * Monitor expenses, budget, and cash flow. * Present financial information clearly and in an understandable manner. * Document accounting routines and contribute to improving the company's internal processes. * Liaise with external accounting consultants or auditors as needed. Tasks will be adapted to your education and prior experience. Year-end closing, declarations, and annual reports are conducted with support and review from the company's responsible person or external accounting partner. We Are Looking for You If You: * Are studying or have recently studied economics, business administration, accounting, finance, or a similar field. * Have basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting. * Understand or want to learn how income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow connect. * Are interested in working in Fortnox and other digital accounting tools. * Are meticulous and comfortable working in a structured manner. * Take responsibility for your tasks and follow up on what you start. * Are comfortable with numbers, documentation, and administrative work. * Have good knowledge of Swedish. * Can communicate in English. German is a plus. It Is Beneficial If You Have: * Previous experience with Fortnox. * Worked with ongoing bookkeeping or accounting administration. * Knowledge of Swedish VAT, taxes, and accounting regulations. * Basic understanding of financial statements and annual reports. * Experience with Excel or Google Sheets. * Worked with budgets, forecasts, or financial monitoring. * Experience from a smaller company, a startup, or an accounting firm. * Interest in technology, AI, or SaaS companies. You don't need to meet all the beneficial requirements. The most important thing is that you have a basic understanding of accounting, are meticulous, and want to develop your skills in accounting and financial reporting.
