Medicinska Föreningen in Stockholm is now looking for a dedicated Finance Officer (Treasurer) to oversee the association's and its foundations' financial operations and contribute to a stable and transparent financial foundation for student life at Karolinska Institutet.
About Us
Medicinska Föreningen (MF) was founded in 1877 and is the largest of the two student associations at Karolinska Institutet (KI). Our members consist of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. MF represents students' interests at Karolinska Institutet, drives initiatives around education quality and development, and actively works to strengthen community among students through a vibrant student life.
About the Role
As Finance Officer (Treasurer), you hold a central and strategic function within Medicinska Föreningen. You have overall responsibility for financial operations in both the association and our affiliated foundations. You work closely with the board, committees, and various bodies to ensure transparency, stability, and sound financial management. Your work is essential for enabling the association's long-term development and operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Ongoing bookkeeping, invoicing, and payment handling
· Financial reporting to the association's and foundations' boards
· Budget work, financial statements, and preparation of activity reports
· Administration of financial systems and related software
· Support to members on matters concerning costs, taxes, and bookkeeping
What We're Looking For
· Experience or education in finance/accounting
· Meticulous, self-driven, and a strong collaborator
· Fluent communication in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
· Proficient with computers, preferably with experience using Fortnox
· Interest in student affairs and volunteer engagement
Previous experience in student associations is a merit but not required.
Employment and Terms
📍 Location: The primary workplace is the Student Center in Solna, Nobels väg 10.
📅 Scope: 75%, temporary position covering the regular employee's sabbatical. The regular employee has requested two years of leave for studies.
🕒 Hours: Daytime, with occasional evening shifts possible
💰 Salary: Individual salary determination
