About Us The finance function at Chalmers is characterized by professional management of our financial control and financial administration. The function is represented both in operations-focused work at our 13 subject departments and in university-wide management with its support functions. This position is located at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, ME, with over 400 employees. The economist position is placed within one of the department's 11 research divisions. Operational support at the department is responsible for administrative support to the department's core activities, i.e., management, teachers, and researchers. This includes, among other things, finance, personnel, research and education administration, and support in other administrative matters such as procurement and facilities. We are a shared resource for the department and consist of about 30 employees who work to provide core operations with close and professional support. As an economist, you'll have several close finance colleagues to discuss tasks, development issues, and challenges with. You'll also be part of the Chalmers finance network, where you'll regularly have the opportunity for professional development, introduction to innovations in the field, and exchange of experiences with colleagues at other departments. What the Role Involves Main responsibilities include: acting as an advisor on financial matters to managers and project leaders ensuring proper accounting in accordance with internal and external regulations budget, monitoring, forecasting, and analysis of projects and operations financial project reporting to funders participating in the department's budget and annual accounting work interpretation of funder conditions and other contract parties' terms We are Looking for Someone Who: Has experience with qualified finance work, similar to the tasks described in this advertisement Has experience with accounting, budgeting, and annual accounting work Has experience working with finance and administrative support systems Has strong ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing It is Advantageous if You Also Have: Documented experience with responsibility for the entire accounting process Experience with project accounting Experience with qualified finance work within higher education/university Experience with EU accounting Experience working with support systems Raindance and Hypergene To Thrive and Succeed in the Role, We Believe You Are: A person with high integrity Analytical and thorough Collaborative and good at building strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel and prioritize effectively About Chalmers as a Workplace At Chalmers, we value openness, respect, participation, diversity, and quality – something that permeates our work environment and our approach to employees.
