Karlstad Parish is looking for a committed accountant for our finance function in a secure and values-driven operation. We are looking for someone who wants to take responsibility and enjoys working both independently and together with others. The office is centrally located opposite the cathedral, where both the office and staff from the cathedral parish are located. The finance team consists of a finance manager, two finance administrators, and this accounting position. About the role As an accountant with us, you get a central role with focus on two important operational areas – burial services and the parish's properties. You work close to operations managers and provide support in planning, follow-up, and development of finances. Your main responsibilities Ongoing financial management, such as accounts payable and receivable, and invoicing Support in budget and forecasting work Support to operations managers on financial matters and decision-making materials Responsibility for and management of the fixed asset register Financial work related to the parish's property management Foundation accounting, including financial statements and tax returns Participation in the development of routines and financial management Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Has a university degree in economics, preferably with a focus on accounting and at least three years of experience in qualified financial work. Has good knowledge of bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial follow-up. Is analytical, thorough, and works in a structured manner with the ability to see both the whole and the details Enjoys taking independent responsibility, drives your work forward, and can collaborate with others. Is communicative and can explain finances in a clear and pedagogical way. Has an unpretentious attitude and is flexible in your working approach, with a willingness to contribute both in daily work and in developing new working methods. It is a merit to have experience with fixed asset registers, property economics, or similar areas. Conditions Karlstad Parish offers wellness contributions and occupational health services via KMTI, which includes a gym card. Flexible time agreements apply.
