About the Job
We are looking for someone who wants to work with economic processes including planning/budgeting, monitoring, and forecasting. A significant part of your responsibilities will be managing the economics of research projects, which includes assisting with budgeting in the application phase, managing economics during interim reporting and final accounting. You will be responsible for ensuring that financial statements function properly and that the economy is well-managed within your area of responsibility. You work closely with the activities and provide strategic support on economic matters to the Dean, research and teaching staff. You collaborate with the faculty's and university's central administration on economic processes and on individual matters. There are finance and HR officers attached to your area of responsibility with whom you will cooperate.
Your Background
You have a degree in economics and it is meritorious if you have experience working as an economist in the university and higher education sector. You appreciate complex problems, are solution and development-oriented. Since you will have an important strategic role, the ability to see long-term and strategic consequences and opportunities in decisions and actions is important. You have good communication skills, are pedagogical, and collaborate easily. You also have the ability to plan and prioritize your work and take personal responsibility. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You express yourself well in speech and writing, in Swedish and English, as work takes place in an international environment. Experience with the university's administrative systems such as ERP and Primula is meritorious. You are well versed in the Office package, particularly Excel and Word.
About Us
Under the Board and Rector, SLU's research and educational activities are organized into four faculties. The LTV Faculty (Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Plant Production Science) has its main office in Alnarp with approximately 450 employees. The faculty's finance and HR unit currently consists of 20 employees who work together to support faculty leadership and the institutions. The unit now needs to be strengthened with an employee in the finance field. We can offer varied work in a dynamic and international environment with engaged colleagues as well as room for new ideas, personal development, and a range of internal training.
