Edsbergsskolan is a middle school with the vision "safe students who thrive in school and are well prepared for the future". The school consists of two operations: elementary school for grades 7–9 with nearly 300 students and adapted elementary school for grades 7–9 with approximately 30 students. We offer specialization in music and sports as well as advanced education in English and mathematics.

Responsibilities
As Assistant Principal, you are responsible for leadership and development of the adapted elementary school and its short-term supervision. You have delegated responsibility for operations, staff, and students, and you work to create the best conditions for student learning, development, and well-being.
In this role, you are also responsible for work with students in need of special support within both the adapted elementary school and the elementary school. Through your special education and behavioral analysis expertise, you contribute to developing the school's inclusive learning environments and strengthen the operation's ability to meet students' diverse needs.
You drive systematic quality work with a focus on developing, monitoring, and improving the operations. Together with the school's Assistant Principal for the elementary school, three team leaders, and a representative from student health services, you are part of the school's leadership team led by the Principal.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience in school leadership within adapted elementary school and special education training. It is an advantage if you have started or completed the state principal training program.
We would like to see that you have experience working with students with various neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF). Experience and training in behavioral analysis is also considered an advantage.
To succeed, we also see that you have:
Good understanding of intellectual disability (IF) and the pedagogical consequences that various disabilities can have.
Experience in student health services and in collaborating around students in need of special support.
Experience in analyzing, developing, and adapting learning environments based on students' individual needs.
Experience in preventing and managing problem-causing behaviors through structured, evidence-based, and pedagogical approaches.
As a person, you are confident, clear, and structured. At the same time, you are flexible and open to change as work tasks can change relatively quickly based on student and operational needs. You have a relationship-building leadership style, are persistent in your development work, and have the ability to create engagement and participation among both staff, students, and guardians.
