We are now seeking operations technicians who want to operate, monitor, and develop our water utility facilities. With us, you will have varied work where technology, problem-solving, and public benefit are at the center. The Water Utility Operations Unit is part of the Water and Waste Department. We are responsible for ensuring that our residents have access to clean and fresh drinking water from the tap and that wastewater is treated. The unit manages the municipality's water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants with associated pump stations, water towers, and more. The unit consists of nine employees including operations technicians, electricians, mechanics, and an operations manager. We are looking for you with interest and expertise in water and wastewater treatment and associated processes. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As an operations technician, you are responsible for the daily operation of our facilities and ensure that processes and technical equipment function efficiently, reliably, and safely. The role includes monitoring facilities, sampling, troubleshooting, and planned and preventive maintenance of pumps, valves, and other process equipment. You follow up on operational disruptions, identify needs for action, and actively work to optimize and develop operations. The work also includes using monitoring and control systems, documenting operational data and completed actions, and ensuring that work is performed in accordance with applicable procedures, regulations, and regulatory requirements. Our water utility operations encompass a total of three water treatment plants, three wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and water towers. You work closely with colleagues, contractors, and other partners to ensure high operational reliability and contribute to sustainable and efficient water and wastewater management. On-call duty may be part of the position. QUALIFICATIONS Formal Qualifications • Technical education in operations engineering, process engineering, or water/wastewater. • Class B driver's license (manual). • Excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. • Since drinking water supply is critical infrastructure, you must be a Swedish citizen. We consider it a merit if you have knowledge of pumps, motors, and control systems as well as understanding of biological and chemical treatment processes. We are looking for someone who is self-driven and takes responsibility for planning, prioritizing, and moving your work forward. You work in a structured and quality-conscious manner, with a clear focus on ensuring safe and secure operations within our water utility services. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working with colleagues, contractors, and other partners to achieve common goals. The role also requires you to be service-oriented and have a professional and respectful approach in your interactions with both internal and external parties. As a person, you are proactive and have the ability to see what needs to be done and act accordingly. You have good analytical and problem-solving skills, which enable you to identify causes, analyze situations, and find sustainable solutions when challenges arise.
