The Community Development Department consists of three divisions: citizen services, strategic community planning, and the technical department. The department is responsible for ensuring service to citizens and businesses, for strategic planning of community development, and for the municipality's water and wastewater operations, waste management, property management, and project organization that supports these operations in new investments and reinvestments. JOB DUTIES Water and wastewater (VA) is an important part of our society and Åre Municipality faces exciting challenges where you can contribute. We are strengthening our operations and are looking for a committed operations technician who wants to help us do work we are proud of. As an operations technician for water & wastewater within the water & wastewater unit, you will work with operations, supervision, investigations of the VA system, and maintenance work. You will also get to participate in operational work with our waterworks, treatment plants, pressure boosting stations, and pump stations as the work over time also involves on-call duties. You work to some extent according to established procedures and also participate in improvement work on our methods and use of digital systems for efficiency and goal monitoring. The work requires the ability to shift pace between investigative tasks and suddenly occurring acute operational disruptions, report in digital systems, make assessments, risk analyses, and resolve problems. To ensure operations, you need the ability to draw conclusions from trend curves in operational monitoring systems and reported incidents. The work area is spread over large parts of the municipality and you usually work in collaboration with colleagues but will to some extent be able to work independently. In this position, we value your interest and knowledge of wastewater treatment plants as well as water production, pump technology, installation work, data communication, leak detection, and investigation of surplus water. We continuously work toward streamlined methods where reporting and work orders are handled digitally for quick and secure documentation. Our operations also move toward increased digital monitoring, which requires interest in new technology within supervisory monitoring and leak detection. Collaboration with other employees within the water & wastewater unit and participation in improvement measures that affect your work area are important parts of the role. In your work, you will come into contact with both contractors and property owners. You are part of a work group that collectively has responsibility for wastewater operations with the support of established procedures, colleagues, work supervisors, and your immediate manager. QUALIFICATIONS • Experience with operation and maintenance work of wastewater treatment plants, waterworks, processes, underground piping systems, or equivalent through education or professional experience. • Several years of professional experience with operation and maintenance work at wastewater treatment plants, waterworks, processes, water & wastewater distribution networks, or equivalent is advantageous. • Experience working in digital systems and handling work orders and reporting is advantageous. • A B driver's license is required. • A B96 or BE driver's license is advantageous. • Good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
