Work tasks The Drinking Water Production department is responsible for drinking water treatment for Gothenburg City at the two water treatment plants Alelyckan and Lackarebäck. The water treatment plants are in a period with major projects to ensure the people of Gothenburg have access to clean and good drinking water now and in the future. To ensure drinking water production, we need to strengthen our operations organization with an operations technician who enjoys varied work tasks both indoors and outdoors in our facilities. With us, you have the opportunity to work with our most important food product, drinking water, together with engaged and competent colleagues in a technology-intensive facility that is undergoing a major renewal process. The treatment process at Lackarebäck water treatment plant is controlled by the operations team in the control room. As an operations technician, you work close to the process and are responsible for ensuring that production runs stably, safely, and with the right quality. Most of your work tasks are performed in our facilities. In the role as operations technician, it means that you, for example: conduct daily rounds where you check operating status, flows, pressure, and water quality identify deviations in the process and take action or report as needed work with sampling and monitoring of water quality according to established procedures perform inspection, calibration, and simple maintenance of process equipment and online instruments participate in troubleshooting and measures for operational disruptions receive and handle process chemicals in a safe manner document completed work and events in operations and maintenance systems cooperate with colleagues, maintenance personnel, and external parties in daily work participate in work to develop and improve processes and working methods In the long term, as an operations technician, you will be part of the operations team, which occurs according to a rotating schedule, as you will also work in the control room. This means that you: monitor and control processes via control systems handle alarms and take action for operational disruptions conduct operational maneuvers and adjustments in production ensure that production meets requirements for delivery and quality in real time Qualifications To thrive and succeed in the role of operations technician, you need to be thorough in your approach and have a strong sense of responsibility for work being performed correctly and thoroughly. You are structured and responsible, which allows you to plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work in a reliable manner. The role also means that in many situations you need to make your own decisions in daily work. Therefore, it is important that you are confident working independently within the scope of your assignment, while at the same time having a good ability to collaborate with others. You are collaboration-oriented and contribute to a good work environment where together you ensure stable and safe operations. For the position, you must have: operations technician education (post-secondary) B-level driver's license It is advantageous if you have: work experience within food production work experience within drinking water production We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Terms The position is security classified and requires approved background check from the Swedish Security Police and Swedish citizenship. On-call duty will be part of the position.
