Operations Technician - Server and Application Operations

About the Position Maxitech is seeking an experienced operations technician for a long-term consulting assignment with our client. This role is ideal if you have experience with server and application operations in on-premises environments and enjoy a combination of operations management, troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical documentation. Our client works with mission-critical IT systems where stability, quality, and information security are paramount. As an operations technician, you are responsible for ensuring that the client's test environments are available, up-to-date, and properly configured for testing, migrations, training, and new system deployments. This is a consulting assignment where you will be employed by Maxitech and work on assignment with our client. The role includes: • Managing server and application operations and overseeing test environment administration • Troubleshooting and resolving issues in server and application environments • Updating and patching operating systems, applications, and third-party products • Preparing environments for testing, migrations, training, and go-live deployments • Conducting installation testing and verifying technical deliverables • Managing backup, restoration, and continuity procedures • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, checklists, and installation guides • Providing technical support to projects, system administration, and other stakeholders The test environments are virtualized and based on dedicated hardware in an on-premises environment. The technical environment includes VMware vSphere/vCenter, Windows Server, Linux, Oracle Database, Oracle WebLogic, Microsoft SQL Server, Jaspersoft Report Server, Microsoft Power BI, and Veeam Backup. You don't need to have worked with all technologies, but a broad understanding of server operations and complex IT environments is essential. Your Profile We are looking for someone with: • Multiple years of experience in IT operations and system administration • Experience with test, development, or migration environments • Experience with virtualized and on-premises-based server environments • Experience with Windows Server and relational databases, such as SQL Server or Oracle • Strong experience in operational troubleshooting, incident management, and recovery procedures • Experience with backup and restoration routines • Familiarity with technical operations and system documentation • Experience in security-regulated or otherwise controlled IT environments • Excellent Swedish and English language skills, both written and spoken Experience with Linux, VMware, Oracle, WebLogic, Veeam, or similar technical platforms is a plus. As a person, you are organized, thorough, and solution-oriented. You work methodically, take responsibility, and thrive in a role with multiple technical touchpoints. Since the environment has high information security requirements, you also need to be comfortable with clear processes, regulations, and documentation requirements.
