Your Assignment Söderhamn Municipality is seeking a dedicated employee for the Archipelago Unit. The Archipelago Unit is a relatively small unit consisting of 5 people. Work tasks are varied with work at sea and on land. The team is responsible for maintenance work and repairs of docks and other buildings, transport of waste from our environmental stations on the islands to the mainland, maintenance of the municipality's fairways, and transport of passengers to and from our rental facilities in the archipelago. Maintenance and upkeep of the unit's own boats and other vehicles is also an important part of our work. The work involves considerable work during evenings and weekends, mainly during the summer season. Work Tasks and Responsibilities: Ensure fairways for professional and recreational traffic, maintain passenger traffic in the archipelago, provide and maintain good quality facilities for active outdoor recreation in the archipelago, ensure that rental facilities maintain a good level of cleanliness, equipment, and standards. Responsibility and Authority: You will be the commanding officer aboard the unit's vessels, order materials and services, and address deficiencies according to incident reports from the Maritime Authority. Main Work Tasks: Archipelago maintenance, fairway maintenance, sanitation work, commanding officer/crew, construction and maintenance, minor clearing work, maintenance and service of boats, machinery and vehicles, cabin inspections, various work at sea, data processing, and administration. We are looking for someone with experience working in an archipelago environment who is ready to take responsibility for the daily operations and maintenance of our facilities. You are practically inclined, have good teamwork skills, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team. You should be a structured but flexible person who enjoys challenges and has a strong customer focus. The work requires you to be self-driven and have the ability to constantly reprioritize based on circumstances. Welcome to Söderhamn Municipality, where we proudly own the majority of the picturesque islands in our beautiful archipelago. For many years, we have worked dedicatively to make this naturally beautiful environment accessible and enjoyable for both our residents and visitors. The Archipelago Unit is the heart of this effort and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of approximately 15 guest docks and 3 charming guest harbors, complete with all necessary facilities for a comfortable stay. Here you can enjoy the fresh sea air and the peaceful atmosphere while working to create a memorable experience for our guests. We also offer accommodation options with hostels and rental cottages that together have a capacity of 100 beds on 4 of our idyllic islands. Additionally, we manage passenger traffic that smoothly transports visitors to and from our facilities, making it easy to explore everything the archipelago has to offer. Beyond creating a pleasant environment for outdoor enthusiasts, the Archipelago Unit plays an important role in the operation and maintenance of the municipality's fairways at sea. We ensure that both recreational traffic and professional traffic can navigate safely and efficiently to our public harbors in Stugsund, Långrör, and Orrskär. Your Qualifications Requirements: At least a high school diploma - At least Vessel Officer Certificate Class 8 - Medical certificate for seafarers - Good computer skills. Meritorious: Chief Engineer Certificate Class 8 - Experience with similar work - Training in chainsaw operation, work at height, and hot work. Other Requirements and Information: Driver's License Class B manual - Swedish and English in speech and writing - Good seamanship and local knowledge - Working hours 7-16, but flexible working hours apply during season and some on-call duties.
