Now we're looking for an operations manager who wants to become part of our operations center and contribute to safe and stable operation of one of Gothenburg's most critical public services. Responsibilities As an operations manager, you'll work in our operations center together with four colleagues. Together, you'll be responsible for monitoring the pipe network's operations and ensuring that operational disruptions, alarms, and incoming cases are handled quickly, safely, and with proper prioritization. An important part of the role is also to handle and assess incoming inquiries and provide relevant information and guidance to individuals, businesses, and colleagues within the department. The work is varied and event-driven. One moment you're planning a maintenance shutdown, the next you're handling an operational alarm, coordinating an emergency response, or guiding a customer through a technical question. The role requires you to be able to prioritize, analyze information, make well-founded decisions, and maintain an overview when multiple cases are ongoing simultaneously. Your main responsibilities are to: monitor pipe network operations and handle incoming operational alarms handle and assess incoming inquiries and provide relevant information and guidance to individuals, businesses, and colleagues analyze information and assess appropriate measures coordinate and dispatch technicians as needed plan maintenance shutdowns together with technicians and operations planners inform the public via website, SMS, and other information channels document and follow up on cases in our business systems. You'll work daily with documentation systems and mapping software where the phone and computer are your primary work tools. You'll also be an important part of developing the operations center's working methods and service so that we can continuously improve our way of working. The role carries significant responsibility for ensuring safe and functioning operations of our water/wastewater facilities and contributing to residents and businesses receiving secure and reliable water supply. Qualifications We're looking for someone with a technical interest who enjoys solving problems. You like providing good service, work in a structured manner, and take responsibility for driving your cases to completion. You find it easy to analyze information and make well-founded decisions, even when the pace is high. Since the work involves many contacts, you need to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. You also get along well with others and create trustworthy relationships, both internally and externally. We're looking for someone with: high school diploma valid driver's license (category B) experience handling technical inquiries in a customer-facing role experience reading and interpreting maps and diagrams. It's advantageous if you have: high school education with a technical focus or post-secondary technical education, or other education or experience the employer deems equivalent experience with operations and maintenance within water/wastewater services or other technical infrastructure. Terms The position is security-classified, which means you must be a Swedish citizen and pass a security clearance including a background check.
