About Our Facility for Carbon Capture at VärtaAt Värtaverket, where our combined heat and power plant already produces sustainable electricity and heat from waste products such as wood chips, branches, and tree tops from the forestry industry, we are now building a full-scale carbon capture facility to create even more climate benefit. Bio-CCS is a technology that captures biogenic carbon dioxide before it reaches the atmosphere, where it is then permanently stored underground, creating negative emissions because the carbon dioxide is separated from the biogenic cycle. Permanent negative emissions are the tool that can be used to counteract emissions that are difficult or impossible to eliminate. It is a necessary piece of the puzzle to achieve climate goals and net-zero emissions. The facility will be able to capture up to 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year – more than all of Stockholm's road traffic emits during the same period. What Can We Offer You? As an operations engineer for our BECCS project, you will have a key role in the commissioning organization. You will enter the project early and be part of building structures, developing working methods, and creating the documentation that will be crucial for the project to succeed. This is a role for someone who wants to be involved from the start and set the framework for how something large and important will function in practice. As commissioning approaches, you will work closely with the production team and other parts of the organization to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-coordinated startup. Your contribution will not only make the BECCS project successful – the knowledge and experience you build here will also be valuable for both you and Stockholm Exergi in future projects. For most of the project duration, you will work day shift. As the facility approaches startup, the role transitions to shift work, where you also take on responsibility as an operator. In that part of the role, you will work with operation and optimization of the facility as well as monitoring and control of processes from our central control room. This is a permanent position. Working Hours: Working hours are initially scheduled during the day and will transition to shift work later. Location: Värtaverket. Why Work With Me?
