About Stockholm ExergiWe are the energy company for Stockholm residents, and with resource-efficient solutions, we secure the growing Stockholm region's access to heating, electricity, cooling, and waste management services. We heat over 800,000 stockholmers, and our 300-mile-long district heating network is the hub for the societal benefits we create together with our customers and partners. We are owned by the City of Stockholm and Ankhiale, a consortium of leading European pension funds (APG, PGGM, Alecta, Keva, and AXA IM Alts), and have over 800 employees working every day to reduce Stockholm residents' climate impact. About Our Facility for Carbon Capture at VärtanAt our facility in Värtan, where our combined heat and power plant already produces sustainable electricity and heat from residual products like wood chips, branches, and tops from the forestry industry, we are now building a full-scale carbon capture facility to create even greater climate benefits. Bio-CCS is a technology that captures biogenic carbon dioxide before it reaches the atmosphere, where it is then permanently stored in bedrock, creating negative emissions because the carbon dioxide is separated from the biogenic cycle. Permanent negative emissions are the tool that can be used to counteract emissions that are difficult or impossible to eliminate. It is a necessary puzzle piece to achieve climate goals and net-zero emissions. The facility will be able to capture up to 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year – more than what all of Stockholm's road traffic emits during the same period. What Can We Offer You? As a chemistry engineer at Stockholm Exergi's combined heat and power plant in Brista, you will have an important role in our work for a better climate in the Stockholm area. Here you will combine practical work at the facility with analysis, problem-solving, and development in an operation that makes a difference every day. You are responsible for ensuring that feed water, turbine steam, and process water maintain the correct quality. This involves making rounds and collecting samples at the facility, conducting analyses in the laboratory, and monitoring operational and analysis data. When needed, you develop action plans and contribute to developing the chemistry function together with colleagues in operations and maintenance. The role gives you the opportunity to be involved in the facility's development. You participate in improvement efforts, planning of maintenance initiatives, and calibration of chemistry instruments. You also share your knowledge by training and supporting other employees on chemistry-related matters. You become part of our chemistry team, where you collaborate with experienced colleagues at Stockholm Exergi's various facilities. This position suits you if you thrive with variety in your daily work. A large part of the work takes place at the facility, while the role also includes analysis, investigations, and administrative tasks. With us, there are good opportunities to deepen your expertise in areas such as water treatment or flue gas cleaning. You also get the chance to contribute to future development projects as we continue to meet new and exciting challenges in energy and climate transformation. This is a permanent position.
