Would you like to contribute to the development of operations and maintenance of street lighting in Eskilstuna? The municipality's public street lighting encompasses approximately 22,000 lighting points. Over the coming years, a comprehensive conversion program to LED lighting is planned, which creates new opportunities for control, optimization and energy efficiency. At the same time, the city is growing through new construction projects that mean more lighting installations. Therefore, we are now looking for an operations engineer with a focus on lighting. You will be part of the city maintenance unit at the urban development department. Here you work closely with a colleague operations engineer and have many external contact points with municipal companies, authorities and residents. 1 position(s). TASKS As an operations engineer, you are responsible for ensuring safe, functional, cost-effective and long-term sustainable street lighting in the municipality. You participate in procurement, investigation and planning for new construction and reinvestment, as well as work with planning of operations and maintenance. An important part of the assignment is also to handle issues regarding lighting on roads where the municipality is not the road authority. This involves analysis, dialogue with stakeholders and work on long-term solutions in accordance with legislation and the municipality's guidelines. The work is independent but in close collaboration with colleagues, management and the department in addition to various project managers, contractors and interest organizations. You ensure the technical function of the lighting, handle fault reports and remedy deficiencies, address the views of municipal residents and prepare decision-making documents for political decisions. You also contribute to educating and creating broad understanding for operations digitalization. Review of drawings, documentation, financial reporting, invoice review, analysis and follow-up of operations are also included. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who have relevant education and preferably work experience in a related field. You are technically skilled and you have a basic understanding of GIS and/or CAD without being an expert. We assume that you can handle Excel well and can use digital tools and new systems. It is to your advantage if you have an understanding of construction documents and can read drawings. You have a pedagogical ability that creates conditions for communicating knowledge and technical information to, for example, managers and employees. We are interested in you who have the ability to see the whole picture and at the same time make wise assessments in detail issues when needed. The operations perspective is central for our facilities to function in the short and long term. You develop working methods and are driven by efficiency.
