At VB Elnät, we currently have approximately 30 employees who together are accelerating our digital transformation and testing and implementing new technology that contributes to increased delivery reliability and quality for our customers. We are in a growth phase to meet our customers' needs and contribute to the energy transition, and we are now seeking an Operations & Maintenance Manager. Your Responsibilities As Operations & Maintenance Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead work on the operation and maintenance of our local and regional grid serving approximately 27,000 electricity grid customers, where we are responsible for operations & control, personnel and delivery security. The Operations & Maintenance team is responsible for the control center, maintenance work, electrical safety, metering, optical/communications, and grid planning. We are a client organization, and the team consists of 11 employees who are all salaried staff with a good mix of both experienced and new team members. Both the unit and the Operations & Maintenance Manager role are technology-intensive, including activities such as developing technical guidelines and technology selection, planning and controlling our resources. Our grid consists of both local and regional networks spanning 0.4-130kV. In addition to the role as Operations & Maintenance Manager, the position includes responsibility for electrical installations and facility & property management. You will report to the CEO of Västerbergslagens Elnät and participate in the management group. We are divided into three departments, with the other departments consisting of Project & Documentation and Customer & Market. Opportunities & Challenges Related to the Role - Increased re-investment budget from historical level of approximately 60 MSEK to 100+ MSEK. We are proud of today's outage levels but see challenges with all planned outages ahead. Uninterrupted service as the first choice is something we focus on, and we work toward expanded AMS efforts and, for example, utilization of mobile power generators. - New types of customer agreements, such as conditional agreements with limited power consumption when the grid is most strained, require changed work methods and forecasts in the control center where the industry is still seeking good solutions. - The organization and several employees are relatively new and we are still shaping and developing task ownership and processes within the company. - We have a great deal of willingness and energy from both personnel and the company, so help us drive daily operations and development in the right direction according to the business plan we have to meet our customers' and employees' needs. Position Requirements We are seeking someone with experience working in a leadership position in the electricity grid and/or maintenance industry. It is a merit if you have experience with both operational and strategic tasks. The role involves relatively technical discussions and questions on a daily basis, so you should have good knowledge of an electricity grid and its component parts and equipment. A large part of the operations involves collaboration with others, and therefore you enjoy working collaboratively and thrive in a leadership role. We value that you plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently. In the role, changed circumstances may arise which require flexibility and adaptability on your part. Since you interact with many different actors in the role, you need to be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
