Umeå District Court, together with the Rental and Tenancy Board in Umeå, has approximately 85 employees and serves as a general court of first instance and is one of five district courts in the country that functions as a real property and environmental court. The district court's general division is administratively coordinated with the Rental and Tenancy Board in Umeå, which is one of eight such boards in the country. The Rental Board mediates disputes concerning residential and commercial properties and makes decisions in matters governed by, among other things, the Rental Act. The Tenancy Board mediates and makes certain decisions in disputes between landowners and tenants. The jurisdiction of the Rental and Tenancy Board covers the entire counties of Västerbotten and Norrbotten. On the district court's general division, criminal cases, civil cases, court matters, and bankruptcies are processed. The jurisdiction of the general division covers parts of Västerbotten county: Bjurholm, Nordmaling, Robertsfors, Umeå, Vindeln, and Vännäs. The Real Property and Environmental Court handles, as a court of first instance, matters such as permits for environmentally hazardous activities and water operations, and reviews decisions under, among others, the Environmental Code, the Land Formation Act, and the Planning and Building Act. The jurisdiction of the Real Property and Environmental Court covers the entire county of Norrbotten, the majority of Västerbotten county, and a smaller part of Västernorrlands county. We are now seeking one or more administrators to work at Umeå District Court's general division and the Rental and Tenancy Board in Umeå. The Work The tasks of an administrator are varied and diverse. You will handle different types of cases and have significant independent responsibility. In cooperation with your colleagues, you ensure that the court's and board's preparatory and post-processing work in various cases is conducted in an impartial and efficient manner. The work involves extensive contact with parties in cases and matters as well as with the public. You are expected to be able to serve in all case divisions and also in the administrative division as needed. You will schedule and convene meetings, hearings, and sessions. You manage correspondence in cases and matters, prepare draft judgments and decisions, and issue them. You handle incoming documents, monitor deadlines, and keep minutes at hearings and sessions. You contribute to ensuring that everyone who comes into contact with the court and boards receives good service and courteous treatment. We Are Looking for You If You You work well with others and can work independently and as part of a team. You are responsible, have a strong sense of service, and can handle stressful situations. You are experienced in working with various IT systems and have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. You are thorough, flexible, and take initiative. You have at least upper secondary education and several years of professional experience in administrative work. It is meritorious if you have experience working in public sector operations.
