The Faculty of Technology and Health Sciences conducts education and research in engineering, health, and information design with a clear focus on societal challenges. Our research is conducted in close collaboration with external actors, nationally and internationally, and contributes to knowledge development and innovation. Through our collaboration platforms, we bring together academia, the public sector, and industry to jointly drive knowledge development and strengthen the relevance of research and education. Education at all levels is research-connected and clearly linked to the needs of society and working life. Together, we contribute to sustainable societal development. The faculty has three institutions with a combined total of approximately 500 employees. At the Department of Health Sciences, Innovation and Design, education is provided in connection with various professions within healthcare and health. Additionally, education is offered in public health, innovation, and information design. The department conducts strong and applied research that addresses issues of societal importance. Research and education are developed in collaboration with the public sector, industry, and civil society to provide students with current knowledge for their future professional lives. The education position is combined with a full-time employment as a PhD candidate during the study period, which corresponds to four years. Responsibilities This PhD project is part of the Forte-funded research project entitled: Sustainable and Inclusive Social Services for Older LGBTQ+ Persons: Design, Implementation and Evaluation in Collaboration with LGBTQ+ and Social Services Actors. Max Kleijberg leads the project and is a lecturer at the department. The project's overall purpose is to explore, develop, and evaluate LGBTQ+-inclusive and sustainable guidelines and working methods in collaboration with LGBTQ+ and social services actors (i.e., older LGBTQ+ persons, care personnel, and managers and decision-makers). As a PhD candidate, you will be part of the project group driving the project and are expected to contribute to its overall purpose, research questions, and development. As a PhD candidate, your main responsibilities will be to conduct and coordinate research in collaboration with researchers and LGBTQ+ and social services actors. The work includes planning and conducting scientific studies, including developing research designs, data collection, analysis, and scientific publishing in international journals or equivalent scientific publications. The project has a co-creative character, which means that as a PhD candidate, you will work in close collaboration with the project's various stakeholder groups, including initiating, planning, and implementing research and co-creative activities, as well as contributing to implementation work within the project. Södertälje Municipality is a central collaboration partner in the project. Responsibilities include, in addition to regular presence at the department, active participation in meetings, data collection, and collaboration with the project's actors in Södertälje. You are also expected to actively participate in a research environment through participation in seminars and conferences and to present and discuss your work on an ongoing basis. Qualifications To be admitted to doctoral education, you must have basic eligibility and the specific eligibility required by the field of study, and you must be assessed to have the ability needed to benefit from the education. Basic eligibility for doctoral education (according to HF Chapter 7, Section 39) is held by those who: have completed an advanced level degree, have completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits at an advanced level, or have acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in any other way, within or outside the country. Specific Eligibility Specific eligibility for admission to Innovation and Design is held by those who: have a master's degree or 60 credits at an advanced level within a main subject/field relevant to the current doctoral research project. have the ability to express themselves excellently in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
