We are now seeking a dedicated and responsible animal care specialist or farm manager for a poultry production assignment with our client in Marks Municipality. We are looking for someone with experience in agriculture and animal husbandry who wants to develop further within poultry production. Experience with chickens and birds is a merit, but the most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in animals, are thorough, and take responsibility for your tasks. For the position of farm manager, previous experience with similar responsibilities is required. Your Profile Job Responsibilities As an animal care specialist, you work with the daily care and supervision of animals. Job responsibilities include: - Daily supervision of animals and stable environment - Feeding and monitoring water supply - Monitoring animal health, behavior, and welfare - Sampling and inspections related to animal health and disease control - Weighing, vaccinating, and selecting animals - Sorting and counting eggs - Handling and proper placement of eggs for transport to the hatchery - Cleaning of animal facilities and work areas - Washing of work clothes and equipment - Documentation of production data and animal status - Work according to biosecurity and disease control procedures - Salmonella testing and other preventive disease control measures - Alarm inspections according to established procedures and schedule Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with animals and understands the importance of thoroughness, routines, and good animal welfare. You are: - Responsible and self-directed - Thorough and organized - Accustomed to practical work - Comfortable handling animals - Interested in animal husbandry and agriculture - Aware of the importance of hygiene, disease control, and biosecurity - Technically and practically inclined - Collaborative and communicative - Ready to take responsibility and develop in the role Formal education in agriculture or animal husbandry is not a requirement, but relevant education and experience are merits. For the Animal Care Specialist role, relevant work experience is required.
