Department of Clinical Sciences Are you a licensed veterinary nurse or provisional veterinary nurse interested in a temporary position in the small animal department? We welcome your application to the SLU University Animal Hospital! About the job You will work in one or more of our units with typical duties for a veterinary nurse. With us, you will work based on evidence and have access to modern equipment. We provide an introduction so you feel confident working with us as a temporary employee. During your temporary assignment, you will supervise both veterinary and veterinary nurse students. All employees in the small animal department work under a roster service agreement, which means work can be scheduled at any time of day or night. Your background We are looking for you who are a licensed veterinary nurse or provisional veterinary nurse. It is a merit if you have clinical experience from working at an animal hospital. You enjoy meeting pet owners in different situations and recognize the importance of maintaining good customer relations. You are communicative with a good ability to create and maintain good relationships with colleagues. You are interested in participating in work that creates good conditions for basic education and research. You know that managing an event-driven operation is something you can handle. Your approach is scientific with an interest in evidence-based care. As a person, you are organized, can handle occasionally stressful situations, have good self-awareness, and a willingness to contribute to the operation. About us The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for basic education, research, and doctoral education in anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. In all these areas, our operations span all animal species. At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced animal care go hand in hand. We train tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses and provide first-class care for companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the future of animal care. Under one roof, we offer care for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern, operationally adapted facilities, we have access to advanced diagnostic imaging and a veterinary medical specialist laboratory. UDS operations also include an ambulatory clinic that travels to stables and farms to examine and treat horses and farm animals.
