With us, you will work evidence-based and have access to modern equipment. We provide orientation so you feel confident working with us as a temporary employee. During your employment, you will have experienced staff to support you. During your temporary position, you will supervise both veterinary and veterinary nurse students. All staff in the small animal department work under a roster service agreement, which means work can be scheduled at all hours of the day and night. Your Background We are looking for someone who is a licensed veterinary nurse or provisional veterinary nurse. It is a merit if you have clinical experience from working at an animal hospital. You enjoy meeting animal owners in different situations and understand the importance of maintaining good customer relations. You are communicative with a strong ability to create and maintain good relationships with colleagues. You are interested in participating in creating good conditions for basic education and research. You know that an event-driven operation is something you can handle. Your approach is scientific with an interest in evidence-based care. As a person, you are structured, can handle occasionally pressured situations, have good self-awareness, and a willingness to contribute to the operation. About Us The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for basic education, research, and graduate education in anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. In all subjects, our activities span all animal species. At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced animal care go hand in hand. We educate tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses and provide first-class care to companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the animal care of the future. Under one roof, medical care is offered for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern activity-adapted facilities, we have access to advanced diagnostic imaging and a veterinary medical specialist laboratory. UDS operations also include an ambulatory clinic that travels to stables and farms to examine and treat horses and farm animals.
