The Psychiatric Department offers specialist psychiatric care for adults in Jämtland County and includes both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric services. Within the psychiatric clinic at Östersund Hospital, several specialist psychiatric services are consolidated, providing excellent conditions for close collaboration between units and professions.
The Eating Disorders Unit offers specialist psychiatric care for adults with eating disorders, often in combination with other psychiatric conditions. We work multiprofessionally with assessment, treatment, and follow-up. Treatment is based on evidence-based practice and uses CBT-E as the common treatment framework within the team, supplemented with interventions tailored to the patient's needs.
We are in a development phase where care pathways, teamwork, and collaboration around patients with eating disorders are being strengthened. In connection with a planned move and co-location with the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Service's eating disorders program, collaboration across age groups and care levels is being developed. As a dietitian, your primary team affiliation will be with the Eating Disorders Unit.

DUTIES
As a dietitian within the Psychiatric Department, you will work with clinical nutrition in a specialist psychiatric context. Your base will be at the Eating Disorders Unit, where you are part of the team's work with assessment, treatment, and follow-up of patients with eating disorder problems. Based on patients' needs and departmental priorities, the assignment also includes dietitian services within psychiatric inpatient care and other outpatient units within the department.
You will plan and conduct dietitian interventions independently, while working in close collaboration with the team and relevant parts of the care chain. Certain aspects of the role can be performed remotely.
The work includes:
• assessing and treating difficulties related to eating, weight, and nutritional intake in eating disorders, malnutrition, and other psychiatric conditions
• developing, monitoring, and revising meal programs with focus on meal structure, weight restoration, weight stabilization, and normalization of eating
• assessing energy, nutrition, and fluid needs, and planning and monitoring nutritional treatment for refeeding, risk of refeeding syndrome, and nutritional support needs
• contributing dietitian expertise to teamwork, care planning, and collaboration with relevant care providers
• providing information and support to patients, relatives, and staff, and documenting and contributing to monitoring and quality assurance of work methods
The role suits you if you thrive in an independent position where structure, judgment, and prioritization skills are important. You will work closely with the eating disorders team and collaborate with relevant parts of the care chain based on the patient's needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a licensed dietitian who wants to work in specialist psychiatric care, with particular focus on patients with eating disorder problems. You communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, are confident in patient work and medical documentation, and have the ability to work in a structured manner and make independent assessments.
Experience in psychiatry, particularly eating disorders care, is a merit. We also view experience in clinical dietitian work with malnutrition, refeeding, risk of refeeding syndrome, or nutritional support needs positively.
You may be experienced or new to the profession, but need to have a clear interest in psychiatry, eating disorders care, and clinical dietitian work.
As a person, you are confident, attentive, and clear. You have the ability to meet patients in complex care situations, work independently, and contribute to the team's shared work. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
