Linköping Cathedral Parish – a parish that makes a difference. At Linköping Cathedral Parish, people with deep expertise in theology, diaconia, education, music, administration, and service work together. Between and within each professional group, there is room for knowledge exchange, reflection, laughter, and good conversations. Our goal is to make the best use of each other's resources, work together, and continuously develop based on our vision "For the world to live." The parish's mission is to contribute to a good society and strengthen church traditions with a special focus on baptism and confirmation. The Cathedral Parish consists of nine congregations. We hold services in 11 churches where many volunteers contribute to vibrant congregational life. We have more than 200 employed staff members with a shared administration that provides professional support with relevant expertise in finance, HR, funeral and property matters, facility management, communication, and IT. We are now seeking a Diaconal Strategist who wants to help drive our diaconal development work forward. About the position The position can be divided into three areas: strategic development work, serving as a support function for the entire parish, and responsibility for migration issues and economic support. As a Diaconal Strategist, you will coordinate the parish's shared diaconal work, with a focus on building stable diaconal competence, establishing external relationships, and working proactively and long-term to continuously develop our diaconia. You will be part of the Diaconia Center, which consists of two staff members, and you will work alongside another Diaconal Strategist who is also the unit manager. Linköping Cathedral Parish plays an important role as a societal actor and is active in many different forums and networks. We currently collaborate with, among others, Linköping Municipality and Östergötland City Mission. As a Diaconal Strategist, you will drive collaboration with these actors, which sometimes leads to cooperation agreements. As a Diaconal Strategist, you are also the parish's specialist in migration issues, and the role includes operational work at our migration reception center. This work is carried out in close collaboration with the Asylum Rights Center. This fall, we are also opening a new Diaconal Economic Reception (DEM) that will be located at various sites throughout Linköping Cathedral Parish. You will be part of a team of three people responsible for launching this newly established unit. This will involve implementing new working methods and structures in the parish's diaconal work. Within DEM, people seeking support will be able to book appointments for conversations and practical support regarding their financial matters. Your task will be to conduct in-depth financial assessments with a focus on helping those you meet move forward. This work will be carried out in close collaboration with our parish deacons, government authorities, and Linköping Municipality. It is essential that you have the drive and interest to familiarize yourself with the regulations of government agencies and the municipality in order to best support those seeking help. This requires you to stay up to date with current legislation. The role also includes driving advocacy work in society on current issues and conducting dialogue with key external actors. In addition, the position also includes liturgical duties in the cathedral to some extent. About you We are looking for someone who is an ordained deacon with several years of work experience and who is passionate about diaconal strategic issues. To succeed in this role, you need to be curious and have a strong interest in acquiring new knowledge in various ways, for example by following research in the field. Since staying ahead is part of the role, it is important to follow what is happening in our environment. Work at the migration reception center also requires that you are stimulated by following developments in migration law. Beyond that, it is advantageous if you have experience conducting financial assessments and are well versed in the relevant regulations. You have good social skills and the ability to bring people along. You must be clear in your communication and convey messages well. You need to be able to stand by decisions and explain the purpose of changes in operations in a pedagogical way. As a person, you have lots of energy and drive. You are quick to take initiative and are independent while also enjoying working in a group with others. You also need the ability to manage your own projects. The role also requires you to be flexible, and we are pleased to see that you are positive and see possibilities in situations that arise.
